Senior Citizens Afternoon Teas
Afternoon teas teas and potted plants were distributed to over 150 senior citizens on 30th. May, restoring an event, cancelled last year due to Covid, which has run for over 50 years.
This year the club decided to overcome our inability to hold our usual hotel based function, beacause of Covid restrictions, by taking teas, together with a potted plant, to individual homes. The decision was warmly appreciated, the delight on so many faces was thanks enough, especially so when they looked inside their bag of goodies. A word of thanks to Morrisons for their support.
We contacted each person in advance on delivery arrangements etc, and we were totally surprised by the number of pre-arranged, not by us, little gatherings held on a glorious sunny day. Indeed, so many indicated that they much preferred this year’s process to the previous formal gathering. Food for thought.
