Earthquake in Turkey and Syria

Two Rotary affiliated or supported charities already have teams on the ground helping the relief efforts. The club has donated £4,000 to this cause .

Rotary Stockport Lamplighter are collecting donations on behalf of two charity organisations who are currently working in Turkey and Syria as part of the resue and recovery efforts.

All donations will be split between Shelterbox and UK-Medic.  Information on these charities is shown below the donation link.

To donate then please use the link below to  the clubs SumUp account , we will then divide the money equally between the two organisations.

We had "bucket" collections at the "Foodie Friday" event in Stockport Marketplace on 24th February and at Tesco Burnage on the 25th and 26th February  On all three occasions the people of Stockport were very generous with their donations and a total of over £2,400 was raised at the initial three collections.

Additional funds were also raised by the Swimathon event on March 18th.

The final total donated by the club is  £4,000.

When the emergency relief teams eventually move out the survivors in the two countres will need the all important longer term support for housing and food etc. The following "GiveStar" link enables you to support this.
