A very warm welcome to Rotary International District 1010 – the original District One.

District Governor Bill Macfarlane Smith and Daphne (Rotary Club of Dundee) are delighted to welcome you to our District Website. We have the good fortune to live and work in one of the most beautiful parts of the world, and our Rotary District covers the total spectrum of rivers, lochs, glens, mountains and seas. It extends from the north bank of the river Forth to the Shetland Islands, and from Aberdeen to Stornoway in the Western Isles. Beautiful views and friendly people await you wherever you go.

There are 87 Rotary Clubs in the District, with several more in the planning, covering everything from big city situations to others set in the heart of rural Scotland. Our almost 3,500 Rotarians are involved in a range of humanitarian and charitable activities, covering everything from the elimination of Polio, through funding cancer research, to providing essential elements of survival to people injured and made homeless as a result of natural disasters. These endeavours are matched by the fun and fellowship which Rotarians enjoy from working together.

During your visit to this site, you will get some idea of the wide ranging nature of such activities. Many people today welcome the opportunity to help in society, both at home and abroad, by volunteering their services.
