Congratulations to Harry Hutchins sponsored by the Rotary Club of Thatcham for winning the Thames Valley District Young Chef Finals
Trinity School student, 15 years old Harry Hutchins, fought off stiff competition from 6 other young chefs to emerge as winner of the Rotary District Young Chef Competition, held at Claire’s Court, Maidenhead.
Harry’s menu of Pan Fried Squid with Rocket, Garlic and Chilli, Poached Salmon with Wild Rice, Roasted Vine Tomatoes, Fresh Herbs and Lemon, followed by Spiced Red Wine Poached Pears with Homemade Creme Fraiche, proved to the judges that he was a well deserved outright winner.
Coming a close second was Ruislip-Northwood student, Elizabeth Vila Creus with her enticing menu, pictured above. Harry and Elizabeth now go on to the Regional Final to be held on 25th March.
Good luck to both and congratulations to all Young Chefs participationg for a great contest and great food.
