Last Friday, 2nd May, the Rotary Club of Dunmow, held their Youth Competition Awards Event. The event was attended by our youth competition prize winners, their parents and grandparents. In addition, the Rotary District 1240 youth leader ,Peter Dowse, and District 1240 Young Photographer & Writer coordinator, Jenny Versey, also attended.
Five competitions were held this year, including Young Artist, Environmentalist, Musician, Photographer and Writer. Unfortunately, not all our winners were able to attend the event, but those who did were presented with a certificate and a prize for their achievements. Winners who were not able to attend are receiving their certificates and prizes separately.
This year has once again been a successful one with just under 100 entries across the five competitions and two Young Photographer entries and one Young Writer entry reaching the National Rotary Finals, for which the results are awaited.
Well done to all the entrants in this year’s competitions and especially the prize winners and National finalists.
The award winners attending are pictured with the Barry Clark, Rotary Club of Dunmow President, and Lois Sparkes, chair of the Dunmow Rotary Youth Committee and Dunmow Rotary President elect.
The Rotary Youth competitions are open to local young people up to 17 years old on the 31st August of the competition start year. Information on the Rotary youth competitions for 2025/26 will be available shortly on this website.
