I
On Monday 30 Oct we held a tea dance at the Chichester Avisford Park Hotel for approximately 70 dementia sufferers with their carers. This is the sixth year that we have hosted these events, twice a year, in collaboration with Costal West Sussex Mind.
We have a wonderful singer, Amy Baker, who has supported us since the beginning, and is very popular with all those who attend. The sense of fun and enjoyment of the music is infectious, and this time we not only had people dancing, but two lovely ladies also joined Amy in song. When one small group arrived a helper with them said that they had forgotten why they were coming, but on entering the room two ladies said to me they remembered how much they enjoyed such afternoons.
These events have gone from strength to strength, and we are looking forward to the next one in March
All the Rotarians who come have a good time as well as feeling they are involved in a positive community activity.
