Thursday 24 April 2025 Breakfast meeting Apologies- Hilary, Jean, Marian, Pat, Pippa, Spyros, Trevor Guests- Anne Hill Birthdays- Maggie, have a good one at the weekend. Grace from Andrew M Fundraising- Tankerton FC have yet to respond to David on their timescales.- South African donation is now sorted and David M will be applying to HMRC for gift aid.- The KSS air ambulance response vehicle provided by Rotary locally has been mentioned across various social media.- Car parking - Thursday 29/5, there will be a sheet in the folder. Social- Bat and Trap at the plough, Tuesday 20/5, 6.30, come and play and have a nibble.- Quiz night 3/6 at the Plough, friends and family welcome.- Faversham rotary are organising a Bat and Trap session, 19/8, £18 pp, at the Olde Beverlie. More information to follow. International- TWAM collection on Saturday, Andrew M and Andrew B are in control. John and Shirley will be joining the club on 15/5, where John will be awarded a Paul Harris fellowship (top secret).- Walk for water - the schools will be joining us on 19/6. Andrew and David are f inalising visits to schools and money should soon be coming in. Books will be 1 presented to schools and the biggest fundraiser. Funding for this was approved by the club. Comm Voc- EK Carers - Jenny McCarthy will be joining us next week. She would appreciate any donations of clothes as they are opening a charity shop in Tankerton soon. If you have any bring them with you to the meeting.- Whitstable and Tankerton hospital gardening - 3/5, 9 am. Andrew B will source the plants. David M let the club know of a good plant sale in Beltinge village hall on 10/5, Andrew B is involved with another on the same day at NT White Cliffs.- VE 80th anniversary, a breakfast meeting will go ahead on 8/5 with an optional opportunity to wear relevant headdress. Anne informed the Club of the work the Whitstable Yarn Bombers will be putting in place at the War Memorial in Whitstable. Membership- Pete is progressing Anne’s membership - the paddling pool has been refreshed!- Maxine will be ADG for the new Rotary year, taking over from Kevin Fielding, she will be linking with Canterbury Chamber of Commerce to hopefully progress corporate membership on behalf of the cluster. Maxine will attend a breakfast meeting early in Ian’s year. AOB- Marian is on Kingston ward, KCH, still frail. Jean visited her this week and she would welcome any visitors.- David M is away for a week.- 17 & 18/5 is the NGS open gardens weekend, more info available at ngs.org.uk - Sue will contact Sue at the Waterloo Centre.- Dave showed he club a crochet hoop Fiona has made for his ukulele band.- A big welcome back was given to Gerry.
