Thursday, 29 May 2025 Breakfast meeting Apologies- Elaine, Maggie, Sue, Marian, Hilary Guest- Anne Grace given by Paul. Birthdays Many happy returns to Reggie on 1st, Paul on 2nd and Maureen 3rd Fundraising - Walk for Water - three schools have given David their sponsor money, others expected mid June. School reps attending our breakfast meeting on 19/6. Membership- Anne’s induction will be next week, suitable challenges are being dreamt up!- Sadly Hilary has decided to relinquish her membership, as a founding member she has been an asset to the Club and District. She will be missed.- Jean and Marian both remain very frail. Andrew M gave us an update on Jean and Pippa is hoping to visit Marian in the near future.- Past president Phil Lennard is also quite unwell at present, Nick has been in touch with him and informed us Phil after a multitude of tests and investigations does not have cancer and hopefully his symptoms will be managed soon with medication.- The club wished them all well. Social- Club Quiz next Tuesday 3/6, we have 7 tables of 4. Godfrey asked that everyone arrived promptly 6.30 for 7pm start. £5 per head for snacks will be taken from members meal accounts and £1 cash per head is required for prize money. Each table will require a SHORT team name. 1 International - Andrew B has a committee meeting planned for the end of June.- Pippa had a request from SERV to fund some tyres for an Air Ambulance rapid response vehicle, approximately £650. David M will look to apply for a match funded grant from District. Youth- No update as yet on district website. AOB- Pat will be selling her wares at the Seaview market on Sunday 10-2. Raffle won by David M. Master at Arms- Various real and imagined crimes were fined including Guy ropes, early arrivals, and 2 Kathy’s! - Today is tiger nut (Cyprus esculentus part of the sedge family producing earth almonds or tiger nuts, very nutritious, good for the digestion however it is very invasive), Cock au Vin and Aligator day. Final toast was given by Godfrey. Next meeting 5/6 7.30 for 8am at the Plough Inn.
