Lunch time meeting - Held at the Gilvenbank Hotel

On Thursday 4th November 2021 President Brian Johnson. took the chair as he welcomed 12 Club Rotarians, to this lunch time meeting held at the Gilvenbank Hotel.

There were 9 apologies for nonattendance.

This week was a fellowship, planning and business meeting where President Brian raised the details from our Club Council meeting last Monday.

The following topics were discussed Face to Face meetings. Speakers. Shoe Boxes with the collection for Christmas which should be delivered to Perth for the 10th of November but most probably the schools will have to wait until the next pickup.   Crocuses. Chantal is leading this. Most have been distributed already. Many thanks so far to Some Rotarians who joined Brendan Fox along with some pupils at Auchmuty High School last week to plant 1000 bulbs around the school. We will be looking to purchase Water purifiers as a result of Chantal Mrimi birthday fundraiser. Fife Gingerbread. Scott Galloway will be attending their AGM and will report back to the club. A letter had been received from Cath Chorley District secretary on Data Protection which was thoroughly discussed. The Scottish Evening on the evening of the 25th November is going ahead with a fiddler, Connor Pratt and friends from the Black Watch band and the singers from the Vintage afternoon tea.  Discussion also took place about fundraising for the Anstruther lifeboat.

FORP Reindeer Hunt. Following a request from David Cooper we have arranged for the Art Dept at Auchmuty HS to decorate 11 reindeer and a Santa which will take pride of place in the run up to Xmas in Riverside Park.

The Breakfast meeting with rectors was held on Thursday 4th November to discuss way forward after Xmas for Young Artist, Musician and Photographer. Scott Galloway is looking to progress mentoring/ mock interviews. Data protection requirements were also discussed.

The club agreed to support Fife Festival of Music again this year. Fife Women’s’ Aid have again requested support for their Xmas Appeal.  Muirhead Outreach Project which we supported last year are again launching their Secret Santa Appeal. 

Euphemie Shek at Studio 8 asked if we could assist in funding a defibrillator outside or close to her studio.  We will be looking into this to see if we can get support from local businesses

Iain Oates mentioned that 30 sapling plants will be delivered to us between the 1-12th November for planting.

The annual Peace Walk has been cancelled because of COVID concerns but will be replaced by the laying of the white wreaths by a limited representation from the three High Schools and Rotarians which will take place during the day on Wednesday 10th November.

This coming week Thursday 11th November our speaker will be from the Rwanda High Commission which will be held on ZOOM commencing at 1pm, Vote of thanks to be given by Ewen Macdonald
