The Rotary Club of Bexhill added a special delivery to their weekly collection of food to Bexhill Foodbank – a donation of £500.
Each week the Foodbank post a message on Facebook advising potential donors of items they are particularly in need of. Bexhill Rotary club then collects the items from donors addresses to deliver to the foodbank. Foodbank Manager Michelle Pannell, said “We have been partnering with the Rotary Club since 2020 and it makes an amazing difference to us. It allows local residents to donate in a way that is convenient for them.
Last year the Rotary Club collected 9479kg of donations from local people, making them one of our top donors. Huge thanks to all who serve with the Rotary Club and to all the local people who donate in this way. We really appreciate your support for local people in crisis”
The presentation was made at the Foodbank’s recently refurbished premises in Station Road, Bexhill. The refurbishment has provided a more welcoming environment for Foodbank clients, a space for local agencies to offer additional help and much improved storage accommodation. The refurbishment was funded by a grant from Trussell and has been praised by both clients and Foodbank volunteers alike.
