Internet Powered WheelchairsIn 2006/7 the then Rotary District Governor Norman Jones threw down a challenge to all the Rotary clubs in District 1120 to take one pound, that he gave to them, and multiply it to pay for a container load of wheelchairs. The result was quite staggering and 3 container loads, coincidently 1,120 wheel chairs, were supplied to desperately needy people in Serbia and South Africa. Ray Dixon the then Presdent of Rotary Club of Bexhill motivated his members to raise to the challenge and they came up with a host of innovative schemes like purchasing a litre of petrol and mowing peoples lawns and the purchase of water colours and the auctioning of the picture.
