Washington Heritage Festival 2012
Sat 15th September 2012
The Mayor of Sunderland, Councillor Iain Kay, visits our display
The Club participated in the Washington Heritage Festival held in Albany Park on the 15th September 2012. We again displayed a ShelterBox tent and contents used to provide emergency relief in disaster areas and we were also delighted to be able to demonstrate Aquafilter units. This was somewhat appropriate as these are assembled here in Washington and are able to pump dirty water and filter it into clean drinking water. These offer biologically safe water for families and communities in regions around the world.
A 'Water Survival Box' completed our exhibition of international emergency relief products. The Rotary Club of Washington Forge has been able to fund these projects over the last year through the kind and generous support of people in our own local community.
