For over 10 years St. Richards Catholic College has asked Bexhill Rotary Club to provide a host of interviewers for their 14 and 15 year old year 10 students to support the morning element of their business preparation day.

Once again, under the leadership of Bexhill Rotarian Graham Forster, some 50 or so interviewers arrived at St. Richards on Tuesday this week (3rd June) to interview some 204 students to prepare them for real interviews with prospective employers when they leave the college.

Doreen Cronin, Principal of St. Richards for the last 6 years, welcomed all the volunteers and took them on a whistle stop tour of the school before the event proper commenced.  The volunteers had come from Bexhill Rotary Club, other local Rotary Clubs, organisations and business people in the area and she thanked them for giving up their valuable time to support the careers day.

She was followed by the event organiser Caroline Adams, Careers & Work Experience Coordinator at St. Richards, who explained the programme of events.  Each volunteer would conduct four interviews during the course of the morning.  She made it abundantly clear that the interviewers were to be very honest with the students and telling them if anything was wrong, as well as right.  Amidst rousing applause, she then presented Bexhill Rotarian Graham Forster with a gift from the college in recognition of the four years he has been involved with the event.
