Cheque Presentation to J's Hospice - at The College

J's Hospice was the president's charity for 2013/2014. Tonight we will be presenting a cheque to J's Hospice for the money raised during that year.


We had another good turnout on Thursday and welcomed guests Barry Linger from J's Hospice and Ann Fraser.
Malcolm said Grace - and later on extracted some entertaining fines.
In the announcements section, I dealt with:
  • reminder about Rivermead President's Champagne breakfast on 10 Dec
  • reminder about need for more voices for carol singing on 20 Dec; we have a fairly good response from club members but could still do with some 'help' - so please invite friends/relatives etc
  • a note from DG about future DGs; there have been some changes which I explained. If anyone wishes to be a candidate for election to the post for 2017/18, please let me know by return.
David reminded all about need for support for the Mulled wine event (30 Nov). You will be aware that the mulled wine event this year would almost certainly not have taken place but for the efforts of Phoenix, and in particular, David. who was again the driving force in getting it off the ground.It has proved to be worth the effort, as the profit for the Mayor's charity is almost
