Aimed at raising money for an Orphanage in Kenya

WORLD'S BIGGEST DINNER PARTY

Here at Umoja HQ (Project of Rotary Australia World Community Service in Rotary International District 9570) we are constantly inspired by people's generosity and concepts to help us raise funds. Rotary Clubs and their members are great supporters of our project here in Australia, so we are now contacting overseas Rotary Clubs to join us for our World's Biggest Dinner Party.

Wayne Limbrick (past volunteer to the project in Kenya) from Sheparton Central Rotary club in Victoria hatched a plan last year that is not just innovative, but most importantly involves minimal effort.

We are all busy with our lives, our businesses, our families, etc., but deep down we have a belief in the benefits of philanthropic support for local and international causes. The challenge is to find time for all the things we have to do each week and it is not easy.

The idea is for people to organise their own dinner parties during the month of October 2014, wherever they are, and each dinner guest makes a donation of $20 to the Umoja Orphanage Project. We all get to have a night out with family and friends, make a meaningful contribution to a great cause. It's a win-win for you and Umoja.
We are attempting to beat our last years inaugural record - raising over $15,000 with 600 participants at 50 separate dinner parties. In addition to the financial benefit to Umoja we can all potentially be part of a world wide event. In summary, it's pretty simple.
  1. Make a commitment to have a dinner party with as many people as you can during the month of October 2014. Early commitment would be fantastic.
  2. E-mail Wayne Limbrick via wayne@limoshardware.com with how many potential people you have attending your party and the location as soon as you can. (we understand at the last minute numbers may change)
  3. Once you have registered we will send you out the link of our promotional videos as well as the link to our on-line brochure to show at your dinner party.
  4. Collect
