Business Meeting followed by short talk -

Thu, Jan 8th 2015 at 12:00 am - 12:00 am

Following the short business meeting, one of our members reveals their exotic past. Please remember your donations to the Foodbank.

Well, we had our first meeting of the year and with a mix of business and an entertaining talk by a member, I thought a good evening to get the year started. 16 members assembled at Rose & Crown after we discovered college was still not open.

Jan Dear said grace and at the end of the evening extracted some good fines.
In parish news I reminded everyone about a number of upcoming events:
  • the Rotary GB&I President dinner at Pontlands Park 27th Jan; 3 members (plus my wife) are currently booked - if anyone else wants to join us please let me know asap. [since the meeting, I've had another chase from District - clearly desperate for numbers]
  • the Chelmsford clubs joint breakfast meeting at ARU, 21 Jan. at the moment Bill and I are representing Phoenix and again if anyone else wants to join, asap please.
  • Rivermead Community Showcase is due on Sunday 15th Feb. I've not been before but will go this time. What else is there to do on a dull Sunday afternoon in Feb? (unless Arsenal are at home). Details are on our website so lets get booking.
  • Rotoract have a blind auction on Wed 28thJan. Details are on our website and its a good opportunity to dispose of those unwanted xmas presents, so lets see if we can give support to our younger cousins.
We had an interesting business meeting with some good discussion and some decisions. Sect John will do minutes idc but highlights for here were:
  1. We agreed to make a donation of
