Scatter Week

Thu, May 28th 2015 at 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

This week we would like all members to visit another club in the area. A list of meetings will be going around the club in the next few weeks. Please try and promote "Magic on the Ongar Express".

A slightly different report this week as no club meeting to report on. It's still been a busy rotary week though.

I visited 2 clubs this week; Maldon Blackwater, with Bill, Richard and Sue, and Billericay Mayflower, with Bill and Peter. Both evenings were very enjoyable and we were made most welcome. The 2 clubs are very different in many ways and it made me think we perhaps should have a 'Scatter' week a little more often. I thoroughly enjoy our club but it can be interesting to see other clubs and of course meet different Rotarians.

I know some other clubs were visited and next week we will have a few visit reports. As a bonus from the visits we have a few more takers for MOTOE and are now well above break-even.

I'm pleased to report that Claire has been accepted as a new member of the cub and as soon as we have her badge we'll arrange to do the induction.

Next Thursday we will be meeting at the Miami Hotel; Richard has sent round the menu. We are due to have a speaker from Trinity House on the history of lighthouses. Before then we have club council meeting on Monday and on Tuesday some of us are playing 10 pin bowling at Rochford.
