AGM - at the College

Thu, May 21st 2015 at 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

This is our final meeting at the College for 2014-2015.

Thursday was the AGM and it was good to see a reasonable turnout.  The meeting began with David and Jan arriving modelling our new club shirts; many more were distributed to those present and I think all agreed we look very swish.

Leila said Grace and in so doing reminded us of our sad loss a year ago; our thoughts were with Mary.

At the end of the meal, I was pleased to present the students with their 'tip' for the 2nd half year and also to present a certificate and voucher to Elvis, who had been selected by the staff as Student of the Year.

We had few announcements to make.  We reminded all about Stan's big quiz and the need to still drum up custom for our MOTOE. We are beyond 'break-even' but want to go far better than that.

After the comfort break we had the formal AGM. Linda W (kindly substituting for sect John's absence) made notes and we will see those so don't propose to repeat it all here.  I provided a brief review of the year and when we looked back it has been pretty good! I thanked all for giving me the chance to be President for a year - which I have really enjoyed, and reminded all that we still need to appoint a junior vice President to succeed Kathryn.

Leila raised fines and Linda pulled off the good trick of drawing her own ticket to win the raffle.

Next week is scatter week and we have a few members going to various other clubs; if you haven't arranged, I'm sure it's not too late.
