Charity Golf Day

Fri, Sep 18th 2015 at 12:00 am - 12:00 am

Annual Charity Golf Day in support of Team Jo Epilepsy a local Charity working to support those suffering from Epilepsy and to aid early diagnosis and treatment.

This years Charity Golf Day was in support of Team Jo Epilepsy a local Charity run by Jo and her supporters, who is herself a sufferer of Epilepsy, to help raise awareness and support for suffers of Epilepsy. Thanks to fantastic support we raised £2800.00 to go to this great cause.

Jo received the cheque at the Clubs Assembly and Handover meeting on 30th June 2016 from President Wendy Tetley.

The aim was to raise funds to purchase an EEG machine that can be used in hospital, or even better at home, by potential sufferers to help diagnose if they are suffers, or the level by which they are effected, so that the most appropriate treatment and support can be provided. It is necessary to be "hooked up" to the machine for up to 3 days so if this can be done at home it can reduce dramatically the amount of additional stress put on the sufferer and of course their immediate family.

If you would like to know more about Team Jo Epilepsy please go to www.teamjo-epilepsy.org

Sponsors of the Charity Golf Day - GS JOINER & SONS LTD - a local long established builder, were pleased to be able to support such a great local Charity as a family member also suffers from Epilepsy so knows first hand what is involved and how this piece of equipment and support can make a real difference.
