Helen Bates our guest Speaker is heavily involved with Dementia Friends, an Alzheimer"™s Society initiative. Dementia Friends is all about making communities more dementia friendly
Dementia Friends is all about making communities more dementia friendly and to help people to understand dementia so that we can help people in our everyday lives. Helen is a very impressive speaker and well worth listening to.
Helen will be accompanied by Sticky Fingers, a local Ukelele band. The band plays vintage music – this music appeals to those with dementia as there is an “association” within their long term memory. The band currently plays about 30 gigs a year in care homes and at dementia charity events.
