Scottish born soprano, Claudia Wood is a graduate from the University of Cumbria with a First Class Honours degree in Policing, Investigation and Criminology. She is currently a student at Birmingham Conservatoire, where she has been awarded a scholarship and is working towards a Postgraduate Diploma in Vocal Performance, studying under Helen Field. Previously, she studied with Patricia MacMahon, Glasgow, and Simon McEnery, Salisbury. As a soloist, Claudia has performed alongside the English Philharmonic Orchestra, City of Glasgow Symphony Orchestra, Salisbury Chamber Chorus and Winifred Baker San Francisco Civic Chorale. She has performed at a range of events attended by royalty and government officials. Claudia has previously appeared as a soloist in front of HRH Prince Edward and his wife the Countess of Wessex, as well as Princess Alexandria.
Claudia’s singing engagements include weddings, funerals, Burns Suppers, corporate events and fundraising events, and she has previously appeared during the Dumfries Arts Festival (The Silver Festival).
Claudia has won awards at the Edinburgh Music Festival, Dumfries Music Festival and Rotary Club Young Musician Competition.
When not performing, Claudia is a Music Tutor teaching in the West Midlands and at her home in Wiltshire.
