Bright Care was founded in Edinburgh in 2009 by Tim and Louise Cocking.  We started the business after realising there was an opportunity to launch a home care service which does things slightly differently.

Back in 2006 Tim’s popular and much loved late grandmother, in her later years, was living independently and contented in her own home with friends and family nearby.

As the years passed, her requirement for extra help did start to become apparent, as a family we desperately wanted her to be cared for and supported to live happily in her own home.  We knew this was her preference too.  We also knew extra help was going to be needed.  At the time, while there were some limited services available through the local authority, finding extra help to top up and complement this was not easy.

As we contemplated our personal experiences, not only did it become very apparent that increasing numbers of older people would much rather be cared for and supported to live independently in the comfort of their own home, but also that busy and loving families needed flexible and straight forward solutions to help them care for elderly loved ones.  Bright Care was born to meet this need.
