Craig Gough from the YMCA at the College

Thu, Mar 17th 2016 at 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

The week has been another fairly busy one for president Rob as he spent a good part of Tuesday finishing the radio programme for this Sunday; the good news, which he bragged about on Thursday, is that the Directors have told us the listening numbers are higher than most other programmes on the station.

Thursday saw us at the college with a fairly decent attendance; we were pleased to welcome our guest speaker, Craig from Chelmsford YMCA.

Pearl said grace and later extracted fines - mostly from Rob I think; she then took home the raffle prize. There were few announcements to make but a highlight of the evening was being able to show the plinth that Malcolm has made for the Rosebowl. All agreed that it was really excellent so thanks again Malcolm.

Richard reminded us about the Rotoract quiz on 23 March; if you haven't yet put your name down and want to join in, please let Richard know ASAP as he needs to book the suppers.

We took a show of hands to gauge support for the guided history walk on 7 April; looks like a good turn out is likely and Claire will put round a sign up sheet on Thursday.

Janice is planning to place another order for club polo shirts so if anyone wants another (or didn't have one originally and are now jealous having seen others), please let Janice know. She is also going to explore the feasibility of getting club fleeces so watch this space.

Sect John confessed that he and his playing partner (can't remember who that was) had failed to progress to the next round of the inter club dominoes.

After the break we had a talk about Chelmsford YMCA; we all learnt bits about the organisation and its activities that we were not aware of and Craig had to field a number of questions. Peter gave vote of thanks and was last seen in deep conversation with Craig about potential development of youth activities in the city.
