Dinner = Council Reports

On Thursday 8th September 2016 in the absence of President Brian Johnson, SVP Lindsay Roy took the chair as he welcomed 18 Rotarians to this lunch time meeting held at the Gilvenbank Hotel.

On reception this week was Anne Sampson who said grace Krishnaswamy, Murray Grubb and Peter May.

Greetings were brought back by Krishnaswamy from the Rotary Club of Monifieth where he had been golfing at a charity day.

There was no speaker this week as this meeting was for business reports where committee chairs updated members present on the up to date position with their ongoing projects.

SVP Lindsay Roy advised that 17 of the 30 Friends of Rotary had attended the last evening meeting.

Foundation chair Chris Grist advised that she had received a box of Crocuses from Glenrothes High School with £83 being the proceed of sales.

Community Chair Anne Sampson advised that the Young Chef competition was the first project of the year and would be held on 24th November 2016. The Grant application for the Sensory Garden Project at the Glenrothes Hospital was being progressed and Andy Strachan has a meeting with the Foodbank on 23rd Sept 2016.

Vocational Chair Murray Grubb advised that they had a meeting organised with the Auchmuty learning centre for mock interviews on 9th Sept 2016 and the Top of the Form, Primary School Quiz and RYLA interviews were being progressed.

This coming week 15th September 2016 will be a lunch time meeting at the Gilvenbank meet at 12.45pm for a 12.55pm start. Our speaker this week will be Ron Page talking about the A92 project

On reception this week 15th September 2016 will be Murray Grubb, John Wood and Peter May.

Friends of Rotary is being promoted for those who would like to be involved in assisting in the community and internationally but have limited time and possibly can only commit on a part time basis.
