Dinner - Business meeting

On Thursday 16th March 2017, in the absence of both President Brian Johnson and Senior Vice President Lindsay Roy, Immediate Past President Wilna Roger took the chair as she welcomed 22 club Rotarians to this lunch time meeting held at the Gilvenbank Hotel.

On reception, this week were Walter Fletcher who said grace and Peter May.

This week was a business meeting where the Council Chairs updated members on their ongoing projects.

Anne Sampson advised that the Young Photographer of the year competition 2017 judging took place at the Gilvenbank hotel last night Wednesday 15th March 2017 with 41 entries from the 3 High Schools. The judges were Mike Ward and Ken Wilkie. Both were extremely impressed with the talent and quality of the photographs, the thought behind the photographs and the very high quality of the prints this year, the theme this year was "Reflection" and the different interpretations were brilliant! After much deliberation, the winners were: Senior Section, 1st Grady Ireland - Glenrothes High School. 2nd Equal - Kyle Smith - Glenwood High School, James Meek - Auchmuty High School.. Intermediate Section, 1st Kassy Watt - Auchmuty High School, 2nd Mia Bennett - Glenwood High School. Well done to all who entered - such talent. Anne advised that only one activity that of the Kids Out day is outstanding on her Community Calendar.

Wilna Roger advised that she thought we should apply for the Interact District Shield

Iain Haywood mentioned that we had over 160 names for the Sportsman’s dinner which is being held next Friday 25th March at the Gilvenbank Hotel with the main recipient of the evening being the Gilvenbank Community Sports Hub. Our compere is Willie Allan and guest speakers Doddie Weir and Sandy Strang.

On reception, this week Thursday 23rd March 2017 which is a lunch time meeting to be held at the Gilvenbank Hotel. please meet by 12.45pm for a 12.55pm start. will be Murray Grubb and Peter May, with our speaker being Linda Ballingall speaking about the Glenrothes Heritage Centre.
