Rotary is an International organisation and wherever you go in the world there is usually a local club in the area you are visiting who will be pleased to greet you as a guest at one of their meetings.
To further international links with other European countries West Wickham made contact with the Rotary Club of Sedan in the early 1950’s and one of our members, Claude Rohan who spoke fluent French, visited them. His visit was a very successful one and both clubs agreed to start annual visits to build up the excellent initial relationship that had been created.
Each club when hosting welcomes their fellow Rotarians into their homes; organises visits to places of local interest and wines and dines their guests.
Over the years this friendship between the two clubs has grown and grown and the annual visit allows us each to show the best of what is on offer in our respective countries. It also furthers international understanding which is an essential element of Rotary.
