On Thursday 16th August a group of 14 Rotarians and partners were treated to a Tour of the Chilterns MS Centre. Located near RAF Halton, the Centre caters for the needs of over 500 members and provides comprehensive and holistic care such as physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, oxygen therapy, acupuncture and massage to over 330 people each week.
During the visit hosted by Catherine Golds and Sharon Deacon, we were given an insight into this condition, met one of the members to get their perspective of life with MS, had a talk given by one of their physiotherapists, saw the hydrotherapy pool and Oxygen therapy Chamber and were shown the excellent range of physiotherapy equipment available whilst learning more about MS. The most enduring messages that came over were hope and the immensely positive attitude of all at the Centre. At the end of the Tour a Cheque was presented to the Centre by our President, Richard Stevenson with all visitors expressing how interesting and enlightening the experience was.
