Lytham's got talent ........for supporting charities and it shows.
Lytham Rotarians, Friends of Rotary and major local charities celebrated that at an evening of collaboration in the County Hotel, Lytham recently.
Among the major recipients present were North West Blood Bikes (£1,750), North West Ambulance, (£1,750), Rosemere Cancer Foundation (£1,800) and YMCA (£600). We also collaborated with Lytham Hall and Lowther Pavilion to raise for them £8,000 and £840 respectively.
These charities together with other local, national and international causes benefited by nearly £25,000 from the efforts of Rotary and the generosity of Lytham and area.
During the informal evening when the changing face of Rotary was highlighted by examples of new Rotary in these islands, Friends of Rotary were thanked for their support including: Booths Country Stores, Lytham St Annes Express, AKS Lytham School, Lloyd Blackpool BMW, Fylde YMCA, Waltons Coaches, Coachtech and the Clifton Arms Hotel.
Lytham Rotary President John Edwards and Rotarian Jeffrey Horsfield welcomed them and guests who were invited to 'taste' the work of Rotary in the town.
John Edwards took the opportunity to see life from behind the windshield of one of the NW Blood Bikes.
Watch out for our Friends of Rotary window stickers and badges around the town.
