Rotary Young Chef Competition

Mon, Dec 31st 2018 at 9:00 am - 9:00 am

Our second year participating in this Rotary National Competition to find the best young Chef for 2018

This year Chestfield teamed up with Rotary Club of Whitstable to host and find entrants for the competition.

Kent College kindly provided the facilities for the area heat on 24th November 2018 overseen by teacher and Chestfield Rotary Club member Kathryn Wilson.

The heat was won by Olivia Simmonds-Roberts who turned 13 on the day - what a great birthday present!

Second place was won by Daisy O'Conner, 14, who also came second last year.

Both go forward to the Regional finals at Orpington College in January 2019, where we wish them all the very best.

All six contestants won cook books for entering and Chris Edwards, Executive Head Chef at East Quay Venue in Whitstable, has offered the two finalists to visit him at East Quay Venue for some "on the job" experience and tutoring.

Thank you to everyone who took part and supported the entrants on the first stage of their quest to become Rotary Young Chef 2018.
