Swimathon 2018
...our 22nd annual swimming marathon
Swimathon 22 organised by the Rotary Club of Portishead was a great success held on 17th March at Parish Wharf Leisure Centre. 77 teams took part, swimming a total of 5,354 lengths which equals 83.14 miles. The excitement was clear for all to see and thanks must go to the Leisure Centre Staff and Sainsbury's, Portishead who were the major sponsor for the event.
The event will raise money for a number of charities including The Kanamai Trust in Kenya, Macmillan Cancer Support, The Alzheimer's Society and locally The Portishead Stroke Drop In Centre and Dyslexia Portishead, local schools projects, other local groups and Rotary Charities.
The 2018 event raised £12,550 for charities and local causes, bringing the total raised by Swimathon over the years to £207,550
