Induction of two new members

President Mark Thomas inducts Michael Smeeton and Neil Hunter to the Satellite Group

On 10th October 2019 President Mark inducted two new members to Burnham Beeches Rotary.

Neil Hunter (2nd left) and Michael Smeeton (3rd) are both from Farnham Common and were introduced by Rotarian Dean Gray. They join the other members of the growing Burnham Beeches Rotary Satellite Group.  

Michael has worked for over 30 years in health and social care including supporting homeless people with mental health and substance misuse problems to rehabilitate them back into the community. He is passionate about working with society’s most disadvantaged people and has enjoyed the challenges of supporting disadvantaged and vulnerable people in our society.

Neil has worked as a lithographic printer all his life. He was a parent governor for a number of years at his youngest son's school which was a school for children with severe learning disabilities and specialist educational needs. He is passionate about highlighting the importance of meeting the needs of people with disabilities.

They are both active residents of Farnham Common, involved in the Farnhams' Open Gardens scheme and also committee members of the Farnhams & Hedgerley Horticultural Society. The have been helping with the  Satellite activities for some time and have now been welcomed to full membership.
