Carers Bucks Christmas Party December 2019

Sun, Dec 8th 2019 at 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

About 70 Young Carers aged 6-9 years enjoyed their Christmas Party, once again supported by several Club members. The Young Carers enjoyed a disco and craft activities before an sumptuous tea. With many children coming from underprivileged families, this was their chance to have fun. Each child was able to visit Santa’s Grotto and receive a present from our very own Father Christmas and his elves. Feedback was that they had a great time and appreciated some relief from their often tough time at home.

Hi Hugh

Thank you for your email.

Please pass on all our thanks to your team, like you, we felt that the party had gone very well and that the young carers had a great time.

I know those that I transported home were chatting about what a lovely time they’d had and in fact one of them (who was really nervous when I picked him up) just can’t wait to come back to a club…..so thank you for that too!

Also, I need to admit to my own piece of learning: we need to give Santa the time that he needs!

I was constantly trying to hurry him up and I apologise.

On the way home the two young carers in the back of my car were chatting about what they had said to Santa. It became apparent that they’d spoken to him about being a young carer and were obviously very pleased that he knew this about them. It really brought it home to me just how important these conversations are to them.

So, thank you once again.

Please wish everyone a very Happy Christmas from both myself and all at Young Carers.

I look forward to seeing everyone on the 27th of January.

Regards

Sally"
