ARE YOU THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR?

The Rotary Club of Southport Links is looking for an exceptional young person aged between 16- 18 years of age who would be keen and excited to have the opportunity to take part in the annual Rotary Youth Leadership Award Programme.

The successful local applicant (male or female) will have the opportunity to be sponsored by Southport Links to take part in the residential programme in Arthog Outdoor Education Centre in Gwynedd, Wales from 2 – 7 August 2020.

The Rotary Youth Leadership Reward Programme has been developed to bring on enthusiastic young people, giving them the basic skills to set them on the path of becoming the leaders of tomorrow. The programme enables young people to gain the tools and experience they need to develop as leaders whilst having fun, making valuable connections and forming lasting friendships.

The course is designed to progress communication skills whilst determining strategies for becoming a leader in school or community through learning from inspirational speakers, community leaders and mentors.

You will learn:

The principles of effective leadership

Preferred roles within a team

How to develop effective communication skills at an individual and a group level based on developing trust within the team

Problem solving skills – individual and team based

Self-confidence and self-esteem building through active participation in the group activities and receiving professional feedback on perceived strengths

The understanding of different learning styles

If you see yourself as a future leader and would like to connect with leaders in your community and around the world then this could be your biggest opportunity to date.

You will achieve a portfolio of experience and skills to make you stand out from the crowd which you can take forward into university or employment.

Following the course, you will be invited to attend a meeting of Southport Links Rotary Club and give a presentation on your experience of the programme. You will be awarded a Rotary Youth Leadership Award Certificate by our Club President.
