Welcome to the new President

Thu, Jul 2nd 2020 at 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Tonight we held our first meeting of the new Rotary year, led by our new President, Mike Haythorpe.

In his opening remarks, new President Mike gave his thoughts about the 'New Normal' for our meetings in the foreseeable future, which will continue to be held using Zoom until it is deemed safe to return to face to face meetings at Broom Hall. Discussions among us as to the right time to return to the Hotel for our meetings will be ongoing in coming weeks and months. He has also produced a new agenda for our weekly meetings, adapted for the Zoom format.

A 'True or False' quiz was held, and Keith also showed us some amusing videos. Members are encouraged to send in photos of projects they are engaged in during lockdown, and we were treated to views of Martin A and David B's gardens. Martin has created a miniature rockery in the garden of his new house, and David's was remarkable for it's profusion of Peter Beale's roses.

At the end of the meeting Ivan invited members to join him and Jean on a tour of North Norfolk on Sunday, with a scheduled stop in Blakeney for a legendary crab sandwich.
