David although being born in Littlehampton a seaside resort in the Arun District of West Sussex, was to be brought up in Largs. He recalled many of his childhood working memories at The Classic Nardini Café, also his 77 hour week as a boatman’s assistant at the age of 13 and getting paid £3.50, 6p an hour. David went to the University of Strathclyde and stayed in Glasgow at the age of 17 where he gained a degree in Physics. Part time jobs were many as he became one of the first guides at Hunterston Power station, worked with British rail in Largo station, worked in the chippy and even sold ice cream. obviously standing him in good stead with a great work ethic as he is involved in so many organisations and likes making a difference. After qualifying David moved to Edinburgh where he taught Physics in St Augustine’s school then moved to Crossford and eventually settling in Glenrothes, working in Kirkcaldy High School. David likes Music, Photography, going on holidays. At the age of 40 in 1992 and being a single parent to Rachel, whist in Glenrothes he met Beverley. Beverley was brought up in Gosport Hampshire, her father being in the Navy and was soon to move around the country and abroad, Malaysia. All told 19 moves with her Dad and mum along with her 5 brothers and sisters before settling in Glenrothes when her Dad started working at Hawklaw in Cupar. Beverley went to school at Glenwood and went on to do a catering course. She went back to college and gained an HNC in secretarial studies working eventually at Buko, then a Doctors surgery and Fife Council transportation services where she worked until she retired in 2016. After a whirlwind romance which started at Lorenzo’s in Dunfermline David and Beverley got engaged after 5 weeks and married after 10 months.
