Crocus planting for Polio Plus

Pupils from Stony Dean School plant crocus bulbs

Each year the Rotary Club of Amersham arrange for the planting of purple crocus bulbs to remind us of the need to continue the fight to eradicate Polio throughout the world. With funding from Rotary International and the Gates Foundation we are almost there but, whilst there are any countries left where polio still persists there is always the danger of the disease returning.  We are very grateful to Amersham Town Council and the pupils and staff of Stony Dean School for their work in planting 3000 bulbs this year.
