On Thursday 15th April 2021 President Geoff Sampson. welcomed a great turnout of 23 club Rotarians and Doreen Gray, Rotarian from the Cupar Club to this lunch time meeting held by ZOOM.

We did not have a speaker this week as this was the club’s AGM where we received an annual written report for activities which have taken place over the current year, we received details of the General Budget for the forthcoming year from Treasurer and Budgetary Controller Walter Fletcher and we agreed that the Annual Subscription would be reduced by £50 to £75. Our Office bearers’ appointments from July 2021 were confirmed by incoming President Brian Johnson, namely himself as President, Senior Vice Lindsay Roy, JVP to be confirmed, Secretary Anne Sampson, Treasurer Geoff Sampson, Budgetary Controller Walter Fletcher, Council, Wilna Roger, Iain Haywood, Ewen Macdonald, Kenny Crichton. Honorary members were agreed as Jim Boyd, Hamish Rothnie and Archie Lawrie. Jim Boyd confirmed he would be the examiner of the club’s annual accounts. The Election of one representative (and substitute) of the club on the district council, was confirmed as the President and President Elect.

Marilyn Robertson advise that Love Oliver were preparing for the opening of their shop at the Town Centre with several Rotarians looking to support this great cause.

Wilna Roger advised that our Books abroad project has commenced and that all kinds of books would be accepted but in the main we would be looking for Educational books.

The Old Tools and Sewing machines project lead by Rotarian Iain Oates (phone 07423 195333) in conjunction with The Ecology Centre at Kinghorn’s Tool Shed who are refurbishing old tools donated by the public and, with the help of the charities Tools for Self-Reliance and the Global Concerns Trust, are shipped out to people with physical disabilities in Malawi. This is an ongoing project with a focus also on haberdashery / patterns.

This coming week Thursday 22nd April 2021 our meeting will be held on ZOOM at 1pm our speaker will be John Brown speaking about Aquabox. Rotary Vote of Thanks by Iain Oates.
