DINNER

Speaker:         Col. Jane talked to us about her experiences as a theatre nurse in a forward hospital during the 2003 Gulf War, in Iraq.  She was a member of the TA and the Queen Alexandria  Royal Army Nursing Corps for 38 years.  Her hospital was a tented hospital of initially 50 beds, later 200 beds.

Andrew B gave a vote of thanks.  On behalf of the club, Lesley donated a cheque  to the poppy appeal.  In addition the club raised £100 from donations on the night.

Business:         There is a proposal that the club will apply to have a stall at the Christmas Fair in Tankerton High Street on 12th December.  This would entail using the ‘Splat the Rat’ game as a fund raiser.  Members voted to have a stall; a number of people volunteered to do a shift.

Lesley explained to members and guests about her virtual channel swim and how they can donate to this.  There was also a bucket for cash donations.

Lesley said thank you to David M for designing and printing the programme for tonight.

Raffle:             This was won by Andrew B, Barry & Kathy.

Master-at-Arms:  Nick did the rounds.  Today is Origami Day

Final Toast:     Proposed by Godfrey
