About our club

The charter for the Rotary Club of Gerrards Cross & Chalfont St. Peter was granted in November 1947 and our members continue to serve local, national and international communities in a variety of different ways.

We are part of the world wide Rotary International service organisation which has more than1.2 million members.  Rotary is a non-political, non-religious membership organisation which is open to all, providing humanitarian service and advancing goodwill and peace around the word. The motto is simple  'Service Above Self'.

Over the years, our club membership grew significantly and we helped to set up new Rotary clubs in the local area within Rotary District 1090.  Our club is now one of several in South Buckinghamshire and our members meet at lunchtime on Thursdays. Additional meetings are set up to plan specific projects such as Charity Golf Days, the annual Gerrards Cross Classic Car show, a Christmas Float, community service initiatives and  a variety of other fundraising events. We also like to enjoy ourselves (!) and arrange a number of different social events for our members, Friends of Rotary and guests.
