The NHS and Rotary in Chalfont St Peter
Once again, our Rotary has stepped up to the plate and is active in the community. Each week that our local Covid Vaccination Centre has been opened since Covid Vaccinations began almost a year now, they can be seen helping out with various admin tasks. Anything from welcoming people into the centre and ensuring that everyone keeps within Covid Guidelines to registering them and issuing the forms necessary for their vaccinations and now their booster jabs. In some cases, their 1st aid training has come to the fore, when a few people have had an adverse reaction to getting an injection. Between the volunteers from all walks of life and Rotary I think I am safe in saying that we have developed a very satisfactory method of working which keeps the NHS vaccinators smoothly injecting throughout each clinic day.
In recent months we have been asked and have been able to help out at the Flu clinics. Our main job at these clinics is to help the public to park their cars in the correct spaces across the road from the clinic and allow for Blue Badge holders to utilize the medical centre’s small carpark. Our first day of Flu Clinic was in the pouring rain and although soggy by the end of it we had fun. The Medical Centre were very generous in presenting us each with a sensational box of Chocolates…. So, we had to come back and help out at the next clinic if for no other reason than to work off all those chocolatey calories.
