Grace Bower (13) received the trophy for her work with a local community group where she planned and facilitated the activities for teens in the 13-17 age group. During the pandemic when local children were unable to attend the clubs, Grace ensured arts and craft material was made available to children in their homes.
Danielle Zamora (18) received her trophy for her work with Southend Talking Newspaper for the Blind. When Covid the charity was unable to use their recording studio but Danielle suggested that recordings could be made on mobile phones and she offered to coordinate them ready for production. After missing just one week, the charity started production in March 2020 and Danielle has ensured that visually impaired listeners could receive their weekly news extracts and the monthly magazine.
