Model Railway Exhibition 2022

After a gap of two years due to the Covid19 pandemic, Rotary and Shildon Model Railway Club will be holding its biggest model railway exhibition to date at the Youth and Community Centre, Burn Lane, Newton Aycliffe DL5 4HT Saturday 26 March .

ROTARY NEWTON AYCLIFFE AND SHILDON MODEL RAILWAY CLUB ON TRACK FOR ANOTHER GREAT RAILWAY EXHIBITION

After a gap of two years due to the Covid19 pandemic, Rotary and Shildon Model Railway Club will be holding its biggest model railway exhibition to date at the Youth and Community Centre, Burn Lane, Newton Aycliffe DL5 4HT on Saturday 26 March 2022 from 10am until 5pm.

With some 24 working layouts in a wide variety of scales from “N” to “0” covering many periods of railway history there will be something for everyone including Thomas and Friends for our younger visitors.

Full size interests will be catered for by four preservation society stands and there will be demonstrations of painting and kit building. For the discerning buyer there will be 10 trade stands selling everything from new and pre-owned rolling stock to kits, building parts, photos, paintings, die-cast models & books.

The centre has disability access and parking is free. Catering (including a vegetarian option) will be available all day featuring the famous bacon butties and there will also be a tombola with a ‘winner every time’.

Entry will be £6 for adults, £5 for concessions, 50p for children with free admission for wheelchair users.
In the 12 years that the event has been running some £25,000 has been raised for charity. The 2022 event is raising funds for ‘Heel and Toe’, a local charity supporting children suffering from Cerebral Palsy.

Rotary President Gary Blenkinsopp commented ‘It’s great to be back to holding a real exhibition. Our virtual exhibition in 2021 helped to fill the gap but meeting old friends at one of the very best exhibitions in the country is what we are really looking forward to.’

MANHEALTH VOLUNTEERS VISIT ROTARY
