Rukshana Master

The Club was recently treated to an interesting talk on a lifetime devoted to the design and fabrication of fashionable clothing.

Rukshana was brought up in India and, after a year learning about clothing production in New York, embarked upon a career making and selling fashionable clothing. She moved to England and sewed a wide range of dresses, coats and other garments mainly based on the use of Indian silk. She told us about her fashion shows which raised money for charities as well as promoting her clothing line and also a little about different types of silk and its production.

At the end of a fascinating evening Rotarian Dave Tollett gave a vote of thanks on behalf of the club who gave a heartfelt round of applause.
