This year the categories are:
Super Server – aimed at those who have a customer-facing role, possibly in a local shop, supermarket, cafĂ©, restaurant or pub, who go above and beyond.
Neighbour of the Year/Carer in the Community – for an individual or group working to make the community a better place to live or work in. The local heroes in your street whose acts of kindness and neighbourliness really sets them apart. They give their time, give company, show kindness, compassion and consideration.
Fundraiser of the Year – to recognise a tireless charity fundraiser, who has made an outstanding contribution to the community through their fundraising initiatives and voluntary work.
Sporting Inspiration Award – for someone who has been dedicated to sport or physical activity over many years and whose skills and achievements in the chosen activities shine through, or maybe they have been an inspiration to others to help them shine through in their chosen sports.
Volunteer/Community Involvement Award –for an individual who has made a difference in the community, or inspired others to do the same. An individual whose time, effort and support have made a notable contribution within their community.
There will then be 2 awards for young citizens aged 11-19. One for fundraiser of the year and 1 for volunteer/community involvement using the definition in the adult categories.
