BREAKFAST

Business:             Pat had several reminders to pass on:

·         Guest Breakfast on Thursday 9th February.  Everyone to try and bring a guest, perhaps a potential ne member.

·         Ten pin bowling on Friday 3rd March.  Meet at the venue at 18.30pm.  Apparently there is another big party booked at the same time.  Some members made a heartfelt plea that this wouldn't be a load of screaming kids!  There was a discussion about where to go for a meal afterwards, the new A La Turka in Whitstable High Street, the Thai Orchid in Middle Wall, or the Royal opposite the Tankerton slopes.  On a show of hands, the decision went in favour of The Royal.  Members who don't want to bowl can still come to the meal afterwards.

·         The TWAM collection will be on Saturday 22rd April.

Youth Opportunities:  Margaret said the Young Chef competition is under control.  However, she is having trouble organising the Young Photographer competition.  She has emailed more than once the new district organiser, who lives on Sheppey, but he doesn't reply.  In particular she has been after him for en entry form for the photography competition.  David M said he would look through the district website to see if he can find an entry form there.

Future Meetings:  Pat told everyone that Chris will tell us his life story at the breakfast meeting on Thursday 23rd February.

Any Other Business:        Lesley confirmed that she has made an initial booking for a meal after the Walk4Water event (Friday 24th March) at the Royal Oak, from about 12.00 noon.  Spyros commented that at present there are only 7 names in the events folder.

Gerri is attending a meeting at the Somerset West Rotary club next week and will report back.

Pippa said she has been in contact with Kathryn.  Kevin has been diagnosed with cancer and has begun chemotherapy.  Kathy is OK about club members being aware, but doesn't want any fuss being made.  Therefore can any contact from club members go through Pippa, please.  Pippa also reported that David B is not very well at present; Andrew and Jean are in touch with him and Anne.

Pat said that there will be a special zoom meeting tonight to decide on an issue which will affect the future of the club.  She needs as many members as possible to join the zoom event.  A link will be sent out later this morning.

Raffle:                   was won by Marian

Master-at-Arms:  In Nick's absence, Godfrey was in the chair with Bertie Basset.  Godfrey fined a number of members for not displaying a Rotary badge.

Final Toast:         Andrew B

Next Meeting:
