BREAKFAST

Business:             Pat said Happy Birthday to Dave C for the beginning of this week.  She reminded everybody that next week we will be inducting Ian as a new member.

Fund Raising:     The next car Parking date is Easter Sunday  9th April - which is likely to be busy.  So, we need two more volunteers for the busiest shift ie from 12.00 noon until 14.00pm.  The other shifts are covered.

Social:                   Quiz Night on Saturday 1st April.  We still have some tickets to sell.  Also, a few more raffle prizes are needed.  We also need some more for our Thursday morning raffle.  Next week we will have a speaker from Crossroads (not Noele Gordon).  Sue mentioned some coach trips being organised by the Whitstable Historical Society; she will circulate these.  Regarding our next social evening meeting on 20th April, Lesley said she had a meal at the Golf Club yesterday and it was very nice; our meal will be at the Plough.

International:    Andrew B sais that he did a presentation regarding Walk4Water to Swalecliffe school earlier this week.  He outlined joining instructions for our volunteers for Walk4Water on Friday 24th March.  Note: Everybody should make sure they have their mobile phone charged.

Pat said that she took a bag of warm clothes and knitted hats for babies to the collection for Turkish relief.

Any Other Business:        Dave C said he had heard that there will be a village fete or fun day for Chestfield village on 28th August.  He might be asked to bring his ukulele club.  Should we have a stall?  David M said he would find out more from the Parish Council.

Pat is going up in the air on another acrobatic flight next week.  She is doing this just for fun, but if anyone does want to sponsor her, that would be welcome.  Pat asked if we have any plans to celebrate the coronation in May?  Dave C suggested the ladies could all wear tiaras, and the men bowler hats?

Andrew B asked members to be alert for anyone moving house nearby - they might be amenable to donating tools to TWAM.

David M said that now we are not meeting regularly at the golf club, the latter will charge us a deposit in advance for the Golf Day in September.  We will need eight teams of four players each to make it worthwhile.

Raffle:                   Won by Spyros.

Master-at-Arms:              According to Nick, today is Saint Urho's Day; he chased all the grasshoppers out of Finland, apparently.  Tomorrow is Saint Patrick's Day - who chased the snakes out of Ireland.  On this day in 1966, Apollo 8 was launched.

Final Toast:                         Given by Pat

Next Meeting:                   07.30am for 08.00am Thursday 23rd March 2023 @ The Plough.
