Lunch time meeting - 12.45pm - club business

On Thursday 6th October 2022 President Brian Johnson, welcomed 17 club Rotarians to this our lunch time meeting held at the Gilvenbank Hotel.

President Brian spoke about how we would like to support the community leading up to Christmas.  We were going to approach the Special provisions group to see if we could combine resources and talents to pull something together.  He also mentioned a sponsored fund raiser “a mile walk for a £1” for raising some funds round about 23^rd October. He also asked if Scott Galloway could attend on ZOOM the District Council meeting to be held on Sunday 9^th October 2022.

Marilyn Robertson spoke about the possibility of having a concert next year in conjunction with Love Oliver with the proceeds being split 50/50.

David Cooper mentioned Operation Pollinator a potential environmental project with Auchmuty High School. He also mentioned that Friends of Riverside Park (FORP) were carrying out a litter pick this Saturday 8^th October 2022 to which we were all invited to attend. He spoke about a Christmas Trail being organised with “reindeers” in Riverside Park leading up to Christmas.

In the absence of Gavel organiser Doreen Gray, Geoff Sampson advised that our match against Burntisland and Kinghorn Rotary Club in the Gavel competition took place at the Gilvenbank Hotel last night Wednesday 5^th October 2022 was a victory for ourselves 18 -14. It was a fun night, again with a lot of laughs. Having won 2 of our 3 matches we must now await other matches being played to see if we will proceed to the next round of the competition.

Next week 13th October 2022 will be a lunch time meeting at Gilvenbank Hotel meeting at 12.45pm and commencing at 1pm with our speaker Fenning Welstead chartered rural practice surveyor talking about Sustainable Forestry.
