Lunch time meeting - 12.55pm - SGM - Club Business and Fellowship

On Thursday 12th January 2023 President Brian Johnson, took the meeting as he welcomed 17 club Rotarians to this our first lunch time meeting of the New Year held at the Gilvenbank Hotel, Glenrothes.

Our meeting was our SGM, which included the approving of the accounts from the previous Presidential year ending June 2022, and an update on the clubs finances up to the end of December 2022 presented by Walter Fletcher. Effective from the beginning of July 2023 the posts of President would be Scott Galloway, Senior Vice President on a one year supporting basis only was David Cooper with no appointed Junior Vice President. Secretary and Treasurer were Anne and Geoff Sampson respectively. The three District voting delegates would be the President and Senior Vice as there was no nominee for JVP.

We had our council meeting last Monday and one of the topics discussed and raised today was the question of an exceptional achievements award by a member during the course of a year or over many years as was seen fit. Members were to feed back their thoughts to the club President.

Wilna Roger discussed the evening Burns supper to be held on the evening of Thursday 26th January commencing at 6.30pm to which is an open invite, includes Conner Pratt and the Black Watch pipes and Drums. ticket cost £20.

Anne Sampson mentioned the “Vintage” afternoon tea to be held at the Studio8 in Glenrothes on Sunday 19th February 2023 commencing at 2pm costing £20, includes singing from the Rock Choir.

Scott Galloway mentioned a Race Night to be held in the Gilvenbank Hotel on the 7th April 2023 more details to follow.

Next week 19th January 2023 will be a lunch time meeting at the Gilvenbank Hotel meeting by 12.45pm and commencing at 12.55pm prompt. With our speaker Pamela Kirkum from John Fergus School. With the Rotary vote of thanks being given by Chantal Mrimi.
