Lunch time meeting - 12.55pm - Club Business and Fellowship

On Thursday 9th March 2023 President Brian Johnson took the meeting as he welcomed 16 Rotarians to this our lunch time meeting held at the Gilvenbank Hotel, Glenrothes.

Rose Duncan confirmed that the defibrillators for Cadham and Peploe Drive were on order and she did mention that through information received from Ewen Macdonald Portable Defibs were also available and the Police were looking to obtain them

President Brian Johnson mentioned the collection on Saturday 4th March at Kingdom Centre had raised £200 with the total collection raised £751 it was also agreed we would double this amount and we would send £1500 for Turkey/Syrian earthquake. A great thanks to everybody who donated so generously.

Brian also mentioned that Geoff Sampson had spoken to Syeeda Ramzan of Hammy’s convenience store who has helped us enormously over the past year with collections for the Ukraine and now the Turkey/Syrian disasters that she has now joined the club.

Brian will be away on the 29th of June the Presidential handover to SVP Scott Galloway will be on 22nd June.  It was agreed their would be no official meetings in July but some social gatherings mat take place

Brian spoke about the Vintage afternoon tea which had been a great success. Secretary Anne Sampson had spoken to the main recipient Home Start and had arranged for a presentation of £750 to take place at their premises on Monday 20th March.

Scott Galloway once again mentioned the Race night to be held at Gilvenbank Hotel on Friday 7th April - 6.30 for 7pm in support of Fife Gingerbread and Autism Rocks. Tickets priced at £15. Chantal Mrimi spoke about the club possibly getting the high schools involved in a debating society. This would be mentioned to the schools at the rectors meeting.

The Kings Coronation on the 6th May was discussed and it was agreed that it was to late for us to organise something ourselves but see if we could join in with another community group. Rose Duncan mentioned that a grant application was possible provided their was a Community Focus.

Geoff Sampson mentioned the Citizen of the year and asked was there a stand out candidate to be the recipient this year.  

Wilna Roger spoke about the awards evening which will take place at the end of May.

Next week Thursday 16th March 2023 arrival by 12.45pm commencing at 1pm with a speaker Irene Johnson speaking about 1st Chance Programme.
