Each year members of the Rotary Club of Nottingham plant crocuses around the region to act as an annual reminder of Rotary’s End Polio Now Campaign, whilst also spreading some springtime joy
Purple has become a symbolic colour in the global Rotary campaign to eradicate polio, inspired by the colour of the dye left on the finger of each child to signify they have received a potentially life-saving polio vaccine
We planted a couple of bags of crocus corns at Walesby Forest / Walesby Forest Scout Camp Site last Autumn and they are now just starting to flower. Planted in the form of the Fleur de Lis with the information boards adjacent for campers, school groups and visitors to see
Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for more than 35 years and the goal of ridding the world of the disease is closer than ever. As a founding partner of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, Rotary has reduced polio cases by 99.9 percent since the first project to vaccinate children in the Philippines in 1979

We shared the £1200 we raised at our annual brass band concert last year between three local charities and last month we visited Emmanuel House to hand over their cheque.
